Clearly not the best movie of 2001! - A Beautiful Mind Reviews
Biographical outlook at John Forbes Nash Jr., enigmatic mathematician, aided cryptographer to the government and acclaimed Nobel Prize affiliate. A gifted genius in the study of mathematics, Nash [Russell Crowe] redefined the field with his breakthrough discovery that shot him to international stature. An aggressive temporal man by nature, Nash was sorely diagnosed with schizophrenia that causes mass hysteria and delusional paranoia. Americas favorite son Ron Howard good [not great] direction will earn him an Academy Award for Best Director, while Akiva Goldsman and Sylvia Nasar would also be rewarded with their sometimes inaccurate Adapted Screenplay. The casting is critically highlighted in this featured endeavor, as lead actor Russell Crowe Oscar nominated performance is very convincing in all aspects, as is Jennifer Connelly rendition of Nash estranged but formidable wife is credibly versatile and worthy of her Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Also noted is the under-rated but excellent performance of Ed Harris who?s portrayal of a talkatively illusion formed character who abruptly appears in Nash?s stage of schizophrenia that occur in various phases.
